AJ McQueen is a Poet, Activist, and Mentor who has answered the call to leadership after life changing events. The founder and CEO of the performing arts company, Writers Block, makes it his priority to be an advocate for teen violence and be a voice for those who go unheard. AJ partners with the Star Of Hope Homeless Shelter as well as schools in the Houston area to encourage troubled youth to use writing as an outlet instead of violence. AJ has also been featured on BET's 106 & Park speaking against teen violence. This man on a mission was recognized by President Obama for his youth support and positive music that promotes abstinence until marriage. After being shot and nearly killed as a result of gang violence, AJ has defied all odds and strives to teach others of the possibility of hope. |
